Download Resource

Past transitions to new first line antiretroviral (ARV) regimens in low- and middle-income countries encountered a variety of logistical and implementation challenges but also yielded a number of good practices to support implementation. As new ARVs enter the market, policy makers, health managers, and healthcare providers can apply lessons learned from past transitions to ensure optimized ARVS reach patients efficiently and effectively.  This case study documents and shares key lessons learned from past ARV transitions in sub Saharan Africa to inform and facilitate future ARV introduction activities.
